Cardiff Registry Office Micro Wedding | Siân + Andrew | Mary W-Thomas Photo + Film

Yesterday I had the absolute pleasure of documenting Siân and Andrew getting married in the beautiful Cardiff Registry Office in Cardiff City Hall.

An intimate ceremony with their nearest and dearest.

Camera Shy? No problem | Mary W-Thomas Photo + Film

Probably the most common thing that’s said to me when I first chat to couples, is that they are a little bit camera shy. They don’t like posing but want some natural and relaxed portraits on their wedding day, Now I’m not the kind of person that create moments by posing people, but I do have a few tricks on ways to get natural shots on your wedding day. If you had looked through my portfolio, you won’t see a single person looking awkward or acting uncomfortable. That’s because I make sure people feel comfortable and confident.

  1. Make them Laugh

If you have known me for any amount of time, you will know I love to make people laugh. It’s by the far the best way to make people feel comfortable. Taking away any nerves, and making people instantly feel relaxed.

2. Focus on each other

My second tip is to focus on each other. I know this is difficult when you’re not used to being in front of the camera, but focusing on your partner. You’ll forget I’m there, and you can enjoy those moments as well as capturing authentic emotion on camera.

Cardiff Registry Office | Old Post House, St Fagans | Rhianna & Jordan

Now imagine.. I get a message of a canadian couple who met me through our mutual love of Ripple Living in Roath. I find out that it may be the most epic Wedding of 2019. City Hall, Pride Weekend, followed up with a reception at the Old Post House, St Fagans.

This was an epic wedding to put it lightly, a party of 95% Canadians, all flying in a couple days before. The hottest day of the year, and smack bang in the middle of Pride Weekend in Cardiff.
This is a wedding of what dreams are made of. So get ready, because this is going to be an epic blog post.

We started the day getting ready at Mwah Cardiff.

Now this is where the fun began! It was Pride Weekend in Cardiff, and traffic was a bit busy. So we hopped in a UBER and got back to Canton, where Rhianna had rented the most beautiful Air Bnb for her bridal party.

After the ceremony we went to the beautiful Old Post House, St Fagans. Here are some detail shots of the Great Gatsby themed day.
