After having to postpone to 2021, Joanna + Tim were able to finally celebrate with their friends and family in the beautiful city of Cardiff. Having their ceremony at the beautiful Cardiff Registry Office, followed by reception at St Catherines Hall in Pontcanna. Nestled in the grounds of a church, with plenty of space for outdoor games. It was the perfect place for an outdoors reception. Read more to see some photos of their colourful and creative wedding day.
Weddings
Emi + Hayley | Miskin Manor Hotel, Cardiff
On Friday I had the absolute pleasure of photographing the beautiful wedding of the Mrs and Mrs Holloway.
Choosing to keep it small with just 18 guests Emi and Hayley got married just outside of Cardiff at Miskin Manor near Pontyclyn.
The two brides decided to go for two different looks. Hayley opting for maybe the most beautiful pink shoes I’ve ever seen and a white suit, and Emi went for boho style separates top and skirt.
Cardiff City Hall Modern Micro Wedding | Lawrence + Ayah
Lawrence and Ayah chose to keep it small and have their closest friends and family with them when they tied the knot.
We started the day at St Davids Hotel in Cardiff Bay where they both got ready, and then we went to Cardiff Museum to get some portraits. The sun was shining for them, and only rained as we travelled. Making me a very happy photographer!
Their small and intimate wedding reception was held in The Ivy in Cardiff’s St David’s centre.
Llansteffan Styled Shoot | Carmarthenshire Wedding Photographer

Old House 1147, Maesteg | Mary W-Thomas Photo + Film
Last August I was asked to photograph a beautiful micro wedding in the Old House 1147 near Maesteg. The newly refurbished venue was decorated with beautiful flowers by wild meadow floral and the stationery designed by the bride herself. Jemima and Ben had postponed the date from earlier in the year and had chosen to have the wedding reception at this beautiful venue due to the fantastic views and amazing food.
Jemima wore a beautiful white dress and a flower crown that was originally her mums at her wedding. She also wore a custom denim jacket.

Camera Shy? No problem | Mary W-Thomas Photo + Film
Probably the most common thing that’s said to me when I first chat to couples, is that they are a little bit camera shy. They don’t like posing but want some natural and relaxed portraits on their wedding day, Now I’m not the kind of person that create moments by posing people, but I do have a few tricks on ways to get natural shots on your wedding day. If you had looked through my portfolio, you won’t see a single person looking awkward or acting uncomfortable. That’s because I make sure people feel comfortable and confident.
Make them Laugh
If you have known me for any amount of time, you will know I love to make people laugh. It’s by the far the best way to make people feel comfortable. Taking away any nerves, and making people instantly feel relaxed.
2. Focus on each other
My second tip is to focus on each other. I know this is difficult when you’re not used to being in front of the camera, but focusing on your partner. You’ll forget I’m there, and you can enjoy those moments as well as capturing authentic emotion on camera.
